I get a kick out of this age.
They’re really with it and not on stage.
Now alphabet soup contains all.
But I recall waiting in the hall
to be included as just me.
So on the closed door I took a pee.
I ran from the left and took a right.
Wrote speeches for the center with all my might.
Till I ended up with cauliflower ears
for saying nothing is as it appears.
I joined the Church of the Non-believers.
Got bitten by two German Retrievers
for pissing on their master’s lawn:
An old pol who had done a big wrong:
Switching parties when he was losing,
And his old wife for a young broad choosing.
It’s a shame. Even Beetles change their tune.
From Reefers, LSD, and We the People,
to a bigger church without a steeple.
Don’t mind me if I chew on a prune.
What makes me go is a real change.
Not for ten cents on the dollar.
A gradual life on a warm range
with just enough light to holler.
