Rockinghorse

When does a rock become a chair?
When it loses its legs and rocks.
Rocks about with big long feet.
There it goes in stride!

But it stops and you keep rocking.
Kick Its sides but it won’t budge.
Too much rock for it and you.
It throws you to the ground.

You get up and go on again.
Give it a kick and it shakes.
More kicks and it grows.
Looking up you’re on the ground.

And now you’re a thinker.
A bigger gap from here to there.
You rock and you wonder
how much longer deeper fear.
