Please reward me for my deeds
Just according to my needs.
By this great sky above
let me bow to you with love.
Color me from the start.
Mix me up and have me part
to many different kinds of land
not to fight but form a band
to play notes rarely heard before
from chirping bird to squeaking door.
Let me celebrate variety.
Tuck away jealous sobriety
and gayly place my heart in pie.
Though I prefer the ground to sky.
At least for this particular moment
before I slip into atonement.
Oh well I must confess
before others I’m blessed.
