Care To Be Here?

When an invisible meets an invisible what does he say?
How have you been?
If not he may talk day and night.

When an ear sees an ear for the first time
she’s dumfounded
over the design inside and out.

When a touch feels touched
what does it do?
Invent a nut and bolt.

Put them all together and they don’t make sense
unless you go your way
with a big foot and hand in the brain
and call it a map.

The telephone is so handy.
The TV is a blast.
Time and space are maybe.
When will I die at last?

Thank God for words.
They’re all make-believe.
Shut up and pay attention!
Intricacies are yet to be seen.

Where are we?
That’s a good question.
Wrap it all up.
It’s a present rarely earned.
