Watch Out for Predicaments

Another man who has succeeded
Is giving me advice on what is needed
to save the world and maybe me
from barking up the wrong tree.

First I must work my head off.
Preach love of humanity.
Then walk in your yard and don’t scoff
at a hummingbird buzzing off with a bee.

Cuz that’s what the whole mess is.
I saw it at the feeder last night.
A bee supplied my honey with kisses
and stung her out of fright.

The third object is always at fault
be it bee humming or a bird.
My honey was sipping a malt
when she tasted a swelling word.

It wasn’t an ouch or a yum yum.
The trouble with life is a mix.
Innocence dies when someone
sticks her tongue in the feeder for a kiss.

Oh she wailed with mouth wide open.
Closed eyes and kicked me in the nuts.
The moral of this story is troublesome.
Is there anything we can trust?
