Take it

You’ll never find it between here and there
unless you know what it is and can compare
It to what isn’t and say this isn’t that.
Darn! I forgot my hat!
How is that possible?
If it’s my hat it is:
my wish at the top.

I is more difficult.
Before taking one step a troupe of muscles and nerves,
not to mention the skeleton,
would take off on their own
if it weren’t for that mush at the top.

Consider this: electricity.
We buzz, buzz-buzz and un-buzz off each other.
And then there’s the field we so proudly hail.
Call it a country, land, the sea: whatever you name it.
It’s BIG and deserves our attention.
Better yet the sky that contains us and we in it

Lastly space from beginning to end
permeating everything we do inside and out.
Are you not afraid? Yes, you! :
a bundle of nerves, a network of nonsense?

Down the ages, moving imperceptibly,
is a dead person, not a fiction, but a bare fact
that we can’t get out of its stream.
And the rest, no all, is mystery.
