Another Remoteness

I speak and am there.
News and views at my fingertips.
Lights on or off in another room.
The car starting
The front door opening.
And now I must transport myself
through the weather.

If sunny a hat will appear.
If rainy a slicker.
Transparent if I have anything to show off.
If only I had the energy to choose.

Is the toilet running?
I will sit.
The coffee pot boiling?
I will drink.
If there is a short
I will sit on the coffee pot
and drink from the toilet.

My taste is gone.
One place is as good as any other.
One thing’s for sure:
I love you from the bottom of my heart.
